The Jobs:
We are currently hiring two people for Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegals/Case Managers.
This position has a few different primary responsibilities. We estimate roughly 30-40% of your time will be on the phone with clients in the pre-litigation phase and 60-70% of your time managing pre-litigation files under the direction of a Pre-Litigation Attorney. You will over see a legal assistant that is also assigned to the case. Pre-Litigation Paralegals need to be (1) exceptionally well-organized, (2) be able to problem solve on your own, (3) empathic, (4) and not be afraid of hard work. This position is the backbone of Pre-Litigation Department and we are looking for people who will be comfortable in that role.
Over time, we hope both of these hires will grow with the firm. We offer raises and larger bonuses each year. We have helped numerous of our employees go to law school if you are interested in that route. As with all of our hires, we hope our new hire will stay with the company for life.
The pay for this position is $50,000 plus a discretionary share of the firm bonus pool. The firm bonus pool is made up of 30% of total firm profit for the year. The bonuses for this position were $20,000 in 2024 and $13,000 in 2023. Generally, we believe $18,000-$20,000 is the likely bonus range for a full year of work for a first year paralegal but it all depends on firm profitability. As you work here, you can expect your bonuses to grow over time. Paralegals that work here 5 years can expect to make right around $100,000 in total compensation.
The position includes health insurance through Kaiser with a low deductible and 100% of premiums paid by the Firm, we also offer vision and dental insurance with 100% of premiums paid by the Firm, a 401k plan with a 4% matching contribution from the firm, 12 weeks maternity/paternity leave with full pay and an optional addition 4 weeks with 50% pay, firm paid life insurance and long term disability insurance, firm wellness reimbursement, unlimited paid vacation, and unlimited sick days.
The Firm:
The firm is both energetic and laid back. We don’t have a dress code. We don’t talk to each other super formally. We swear in the office. This is not your typical stuffy law office. We believe in a team-oriented approach where we help each other succeed and where clients come first. We believe that happy employees are the most productive employees. We believe that setting high goals, giving people the training and technology they need to succeed, and explaining why we do things the way we do gets our firm and our clients the best results. But with that comes high expectations. We expect you will do your job well. We expect you will be a team player. We expect you will mesh into the firm culture.
Our firm mission statement is as follows: the mission of Cheney Galluzzi & Howard, LLC is to help people injured through no fault of their own put their lives back together.
