Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and entrepreneurial-minded Clinical Healthcare Support Specialist to join our rapidly expanding team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, ambition, and a kind demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and record patient vital signs, and communicate patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and other clinical personnel.
- Prepare patients for examinations, perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams.
- Observe patients and report any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist, and other clinical personnel.
- Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions, and collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens.
- Prepare and administer medications, change dressings, apply bandages, and remove sutures under physician supervision.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilize instruments, and practice OSHA safety standards.
- Process patient phone messages, return calls, and route them to other team members as appropriate.
- Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices, and follow up with coached patients via weekly calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training required.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable environment required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
- EMR system experience preferred.
- Spoken and written fluency in English required.
