Job Description
- Participate in a rotational training and development program with the focus of learning our Supply Chain Operations structure and developing leadership skills
- Areas of focus within Supply Chain: Plant Operations, Logistics, Transportation, Continuous Improvement, Engineering
- Participate in projects that enhance an overall knowledge of the business
- Completion of the program will lead to long term roles as Plant Manager or other leadership positions within Plant Operations.
Plant Operations Rotation
- Gain understanding of all roles within the Plant including but not limited to: Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Shipping & Receiving, and Plant administration
- Extended hands-on experience leading a shift independently in the role of Shift Supervisor for a minimum of three months.
- Ability to shadow and work with Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager to learn best practices for leading a plant.
Logistics and Transportation Rotation
- Understand how our supply chain works with a focus on how Logistics and Transportation interact cross-functionally with Plant Operations to deliver on our customer’s expectations.
- Gain experience in booking loads, track and trace, Service Center planning, pool customers, GLID’s, Line Haul utilization, fractional pallet analysis and other key areas of the function.
Operational Excellence Rotation
- Understand the fundamentals of Lean Thinking and Six Sigma methodologies within the Supply Chain Excellence organization
- Learn to identify Value Added and Waste activities in CHEP’s Supply Chain, put in practice via leading a Kaizen workshops
- Exposure to various sites (in House and 3PLs) to identify best practices, learn to define financial benefits of projects, and apply project management fundamentals to track progress success
Engineering Rotation
- Understand engineering reliability and CapEx initiatives as it relates to Plant Operations.
- Oversee project milestones, including design reviews, SOW and CapEx creation, quoting, permitting, scheduling, equipment installation, commissioning, and stakeholder communication. Responsibilities also include tracking shipping, coordinating with teams, and ensuring successful project execution from start to finish.

Challenges
- Work will require occasional extended hours for special projects or urgent requests
- Working autonomously and occasionally having limited access to immediate managers
- Working across different shifts may be required
- Relocation is required to begin program and potentially for placement of landing role
- Business travel is required

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for business related degree focus
- 3 to 5 years in a relevant business discipline e.g., Industrial Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain management
- Desirable qualifications include Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification
- Willingness to work in a geographical area assigned by the business
Experience
- Military experience as a commissioned Officers with 0-1, 0-2, or 0-3 ranking who have held a position leading enlisted personnel and are in good standing or honourably discharged
Skills and Knowledge
- Verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and in collaborative environments.
- Ability to identify and drive process improvement activities.
- Highly organized with time management and prioritization skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications – Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Word.
