This role is essential for driving the Commercial Finance strategy, enhancing profitability, and supporting key business decisions through comprehensive financial insights and collaboration. This role focuses strongly on commercial and sales decisions, including pricing strategies and growth initiatives. By ensuring financial considerations are integral to strategic planning and execution, the successful candidate will bridge the gap between finance and the commercial functions, influencing business decisions to drive overall financial excellence and commercial success.
Additionally, this role collaborates with RGM and Asset Productivity in leading the development and implementation of Revenue Management strategies and Asset Management policies.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Provide strategic and operational decision-making guidance to regional leadership, optimizing business performance and capital allocation (e.g., sales growth, supply chain, and capex management).
- Identify and support strategic business initiatives to improve financial performance and meet forecast targets.
- Deliver comprehensive insights and commentary on financial results, utilizing multiple performance lenses (e.g., variance analysis, channel profitability, risks, and opportunities) to inform decision-making.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance on strategic projects, such as capital investments, pricing strategies, and market entry initiatives.
- Oversee profitability analysis and cost optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency and maximize return on investment across key business functions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, focusing on resource management, career development, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
- Ensure the finance team has the necessary tools, systems, and processes to execute their duties efficiently and effectively, driving continuous improvement within the function.
Experience and Qualifications
- Business or Finance Degree or Master of Business Administration.
- 10 years of experience (including Big 4 firm) preferably in complex multinational businesses within Finance Leadership roles, including previous business partnering experience.
- Exposure to complex and distributed operational environments (global in nature)
- Experience managing multiple deadlines and a high-pressure deliverable environment.
- Experience influencing senior level peers and comfortable with matrix reporting.
- Previous experience managing managers and senior managers.
- Proven experience in driving change management initiatives
- Proven experience in the adoption and utilization of advanced data analytics.
Scope
- Commercial function, CHEP Americas (USA, Canada & LATAM): Overseeing the financial performance and strategic direction of commercial activities across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and local market conditions
- Team size: 12 total with 3 Direct reports
Base pay range is $160,000-$220,000 annually
Salary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
