PCA/Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care settings and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for those with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, or other health challenges. This role is vital in promoting independence and dignity for our clients in various environments, including assisted living facilities, personal care homes, and group homes.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Document client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or case manager.
• Engage clients in social activities that promote cognitive function and emotional health.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or direct support settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care practices is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for this role.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in personal care or related fields are advantageous.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
