What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Nurse position at Cherishaven Hospice?
Duties:
- Provide compassionate and quality patient care in a hospice setting
- Assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, symptom control, and end-of-life care options
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure compliance with all medical documentation requirements
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN)
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in hospice or palliative care is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail in medical documentation
