Job Description

Salary : Job Summary :

The Forklift Operator is responsible for transporting brick and re-sale items within the loading yard, including loading and unloading trailers and maintaining cleanliness and order in the yard. Production forklift operators will also move brick from packaging lines to designated bays in the loading yard.

Work Schedule :

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. (production department) or 7 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. (loading yard). Night shift, Monday to Thursday 4 : 00p.m. to 3 : 00a.m.
Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required depending on production needs.

Physical Requirements :

Operate forklifts of varying sizes and capacities for transporting brick and re-sale items.

Adhere to company and OSHA safety procedures, reporting issues to supervisors, safety coordinators, or HR as needed.

Follow established daily protocols and training guidelines.

Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and report any defects or repair needs to supervisors.

Clean and maintain assigned equipment.

Assist in training employees in forklift operations and related duties.

Regularly required to talk and hear.

Active role involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing throughout the day.

Frequently lift / move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment :

Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration.

Exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Loud noise levels in the work environment.

Required Education and Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of forklift operation experience.

Basic arithmetic and documentation skills or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Preferred Education and Experience :

High school diploma or GED.

Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing environment.
