Job Description:
The Correctional Officer is responsible for providing support to the Department in the administration of the program and on a day-to-day basis. The DPO will assist in the supervision of offenders and provide direct supervision to staff. The DPO will assist in the development of staff and provide leadership opportunities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise offenders under the direction and supervision of the DPO
- Maintain a safe environment for staff and inmates
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff members
- Assisting with the development of staff by assisting in classes, training, meetings, etc.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- High School Diploma GED preferred but not required
- Minimum of one year experience working with males in a corrections setting, preferred but not required
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and work in all weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $38,000.00 per year
