MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. degree or higher with proper certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission. Minimum of five successful years as an educator required. Leadership experience at the school or district level preferred. Strong knowledge of K-12 curriculum; ability to communicate effectively; strong organizational skills.
GOAL
To coordinate, support and sustain the effective organization, alignment, and operation of specific content area and instructional resources, student resources, professional development, and standards-based academic goals
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an aligned, coordinated, and consistent instructional program designed to meet the needs of all students.
- Ensure that district curricula comply with all state and federal requirements, as well as School Board policies.
- Work in collaboration with district and school level stakeholders in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of teaching and learning, to continuously improve overall student achievement.
- Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of providing up-to-date references and for compliance with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Design, update, and monitor utilization of instructional support documents, materials, and software.
- Review, evaluate, present, and recommend appropriate and innovative instructional processes and materials to ensure the district has the most effective educational resources for student achievement as aligned to Superintendent direction and board policies.
- Provide technical and/or consultative support to schools as needed through coaching, modeling, developing instructional strategies or content timelines, and mentoring.
- Engage in vertical articulation of K-12 standards, resources, goals, and objectives.
- Coordinate with content area colleagues, professional learning specialist, and Instructional Lead Specialists to foster focused, aligned, and coordinated instructional programs, effective instruction strategies, and improved outcomes for students.
- Assist in the development of district, innovation zone and school improvement plans based on analysis of student achievement data.
- Assist in the development and coordination of the sections of budget processes that pertain to instructional programs and initiatives, such as academic events and student recognitions, Georgia Lottery Pre-Kindergarten, Special Olympics, SACS/CASI, Ad Hoc Committees, etc.
- Monitor and provide reporting on fund balances of assigned curricular programs and related financial activity to ensure compliance with district and/or grant/program requirements and timelines.
- Effectively prepare and present varied curriculum-mandated reports, including federal and state grant applications, and action plans based on accurate data analysis and evaluation of district information and achievement results.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings and workshops for the purpose of gaining and/or conveying information related to assigned duties.
- Chair and/or serve on district Ad Hoc or other committees as assigned.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate, and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
- Research and review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
