What are the responsibilities and job description for the Criminal Investigator position at Cherokee County - Texas?

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting the District Attorney’s office on matters including, but not limited to investigations of felony cases; drafting of documents to ensure expediency in legal process; preparing felony case evidence and assist in presentation of cases for grand jury indictments and/or criminal trial. Testify in court and grand jury and on occasions as a fingerprint expert for previous convictions.

Interviewing and subpoenaing of witness for cases including but not limited to capital punishments and sexual assaults; coordinating investigation activities with other law enforcement agencies and arrests.

Assist court bailiffs with activities/security in courtroom during trial.

Performs additional duties as assigned by the District Attorney

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited institution

· Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Office Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) certified

· Possess a current Texas Peace Officer’s license

· Prior law enforcement experience as a Criminal Investigator

· Valid Texas Driver License

· Possess an Advanced or Master Police Officer license

· Current weapons Qualification

Pay: $48,646.00 - $60,000.00 per year
