What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Child Advocate position at Cherokee Family Violence Center?
The role of the Lead Child Advocate is to establish programming that is age and developmentally appropriate for children who have witnessed domestic violence. This position will develop, implement, and evaluate the educational and emotional supportive services for children in our housing, shelter and community programs. The Lead Advocate will work with other direct service advocates to coordinate community outreach surrounding teen dating awareness, healthy relationships and youth-focused safety.
Some of the duties of the Lead Child Advocate are:
Conduct needs assessments & develop individualized and family plans accordingly.
Identify signs of emotional or developmental concerns in children and bring the problems to the attention of the Program Director.
Manage department records of children’s progress, routines, and interests.
Coordinate departmental resources for all requested childcare needs.
Oversee the monthly calendar of children’s programming activities.
Cultivate relationships with organizations serving children and youth as possible outlets for enhancing and expanding program services.
Submit monthly reports to Program Director
Protect confidentiality of client information and shelter location as per policies and Georgia statutes.
Ensure all departmental services are entered into data management system.
Understand impact of trauma (i.e. Adverse Childhood Experiences {ACEs}, etc.)
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
