Information Systems Security Engineer
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Top Secret or DOE “Q” clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret or DOE “Q” clearance to be considered.
We are seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support our DOE customer in Las Vegas, NV. The ISSE will utilize and configure existing cybersecurity tools to monitor, analyze, and report cybersecurity incidents. Additionally, the ISSE will recommend and implement new tools in response to evolving threats, technological advances, and changes to the organization’s mission.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Information Systems Security Engineer: $65,000 to $110,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Information Systems Security Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Performing continuous monitoring of systems and networks for potential cybersecurity incidents.
- Analyzing system changes, events, and incidents to assess risk.
- Providing guidance on security tools and modifications to enhance the security posture.
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and risk management in alignment with best practices.
- Implementing, maintaining, and updating cybersecurity tools.
- Communicating cybersecurity findings effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Information Systems Security Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management, Cybersecurity, or related field. (Alternatively, 4 years of technical work experience may substitute for education).
- 5 years of related work experience, preferably in cybersecurity.
- Strong experience in system administration (Windows and Linux).
- Familiarity with Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) tools, Log Management, and Antivirus tools.
- Ability to assess risks across system networks and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
