An Information Technology Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting various aspects of an organization's information technology infrastructure. They work with computer systems, networks, software, and hardware to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance. Their duties may include troubleshooting technical issues, installing and configuring software and hardware, providing user support and training, and maintaining system security. They collaborate with other IT professionals to implement IT projects and initiatives and stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends. An Information Technology Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure and ensuring the efficient and secure use of technology resources.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Information Technology Specialist: $84k - $104k
Pay commensurate with experience.

Information Technology Specialist Responsibilities Include:
• Troubleshooting and problem resolution of desktop/laptop, peripherals, hardware and installed software, including warranty tracking and repair for all hardware (Troubleshooting also includes clinic unique and specialized peripheral hardware and software)
• Problem identification and resolution
• Entering and retrieving work order data into help desk database
• Problem escalation (when required)
• Best practices documentation
• Applying security updates/patches as requested by base network managers
• Coordination with other network/communications agencies as required
• File Server and storage and maintenance support to include firmware, patches, updates, backup, and file restoration
• Assist in preparation to turn in Information Technology equipment to DRMO
• Assist as needed in inventory management program and new equipment deployment
• Removing/replacing IT equipment as needed
• Assist other communications agencies as required with upgrades, installations, etc.
• E-mail (Outlook) user front-end support
• Limited troubleshooting and problem escalation of cellular devices
• Troubleshoot web-based clinical applications
• Coordinating/assisting with 72d Communication Directorate or Defense Health Agency on connecting network drops to activate ports on switches/routers
• Troubleshoot problems associated with connectivity between End User Device (EUDs)/switches from/to other locations
• In-processing and out-processing members into the clinic
• Ticket Prioritization IAW Para 3.1.4
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Information Technology Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Proficiency in IT Help Desk support, including Level 2, Tier 2 troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of desktop/laptop computers, software, and peripheral hardware.
• Experience in LAN/WAN environments and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Remedy and Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) for ticketing and tracking.
• Effective communication and customer service skills for technical assistance.
• Diagnose and resolve end-user technical issues efficiently.
• Provide remote and on-site IT support for software, hardware, and network-related problems.
• Escalate incidents appropriately to CFP and GSC when necessary.
• Follow procedural documentation and ensure proper ticket tracking.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
