As a Web Designer / Developer IV at Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS) in Charleston, SC, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining websites. With a bachelor's degree as a prerequisite and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a federal agency setting, you will utilize your expertise to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites that meet client objectives.

Compensation & Benefits :

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Web Designer / Developer IV : Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.

Web Designer / Developer IV Responsibilities Include :

Perform website design and creation, from planning and conceptualization to development and testing.

Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and requirements for establishing a website, conducting interviews to clarify objectives.

Plan, design, and develop the look and flow of websites, ensuring an intuitive and engaging user experience.

Create or supervise the design of digitized images, banners, bullets, charts, image maps, and other graphics to enhance the appearance of websites.

Utilize programming techniques and knowledge of computer internet systems to implement website functionality and features.

Test and edit websites for functionality, usability, and compatibility across different browsers and devices.

Maintain and update websites as needed, implementing changes based on client feedback or evolving requirements.

Document website design and development processes, including specifications, guidelines, and best practices.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality websites on time and within budget.

Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, mentoring them in web design and development principles and techniques.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Web Designer / Developer IV Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested :

Bachelor's degree (BS / BA) in web design, computer science, or a related field is required.

Minimum of 6 years of experience in web design and development, preferably in a federal agency setting.

Proficiency in website design and development tools and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems (CMS).

Strong visual design skills, with the ability to create aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly website layouts and graphics.

Knowledge of programming techniques and best practices for optimizing website performance and security.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the web design and development field.

Previous experience leading or directing the work of others is desirable.

Portfolio showcasing previous web design and development projects is preferred.

Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
