Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Full-time (40/hour per week)
No call or weekends
Location: Chattanooga, TN

Summary: By utilizing a team based model, a Psych NP is to provide complete psycho-pharmacotherapy to a large number of clients daily in medication clinics.
Responsibilities: Include the following:
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provide sound and ethical pharmacotherapy.
- Provide support to all clients.
- Monitor progress in regard to pharmacotherapy.
- Monitor all needed labs and laboratory findings in order to provide holistic care (combination of mental and physical health).
- Provide psychopharmacologic approaches to meet client issues.
- Provide emotional supportive techniques to clients during medical clinic appointments.
- Provide information and opinion from psychopharmacotherapy point of view to any problems discussed in Treatment Team.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participates in Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement Activities (CQI) as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Masters Degree in Nursing with special emphasis on psychiatric nursing. Registered Nurse with minimum of two years psychiatric clinical experience in, in-patient or outpatient facility or Mental Health Center. Or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ANCC certificate in order to prescribe.
Certificates and Licenses:
Licensed in the State of Tennessee as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Must have obtained a DEA license in order to prescribe medication.
