Job Summary
Assists with research and development of curriculum, maintains and sets up equipment, makes presentations, assists with playgroups, and facilitates networking meetings. Recruits families for home visiting program. Coordinates and conducts home visits using specified curriculum and assessment tools. Collects and enters data from each visit into database and spreadsheets. Makes referrals to appropriate services in the community.
Job Duties
Assists with research and development of curriculum and training materials. Maintains inventory of equipment. Maintains necessary forms for training sessions. Locates and secures needed physical locations for trainings. Prepares and distributes notices and announcements for trainings. Physically arranges the room and equipment for training sessions. Arranges and presents training in a variety of topics related to Early Childhood. Makes Arrangements with other agencies or departments as needed for trainings.
Home Visiting
Carries appropriate size case load as determined by supervisor. Performs initial screenings to determine if family is eligible to participate in the program. Works as a team member to assist in obtaining program goals and objectives. Utilizes an assessment process in order to determine what the child's and families immediate needs are. Conducts home visits for each child/family in the child's home and collects and enters data from each visit into database and/or spreadsheets. Identifies, utilizes, and makes referrals to tribal, state, and local resources within the community. Develops good relations with families and provides written and verbal communication concerning screens, follow up services, and other information regarding the child. Attends training as assigned by supervisor. Maintains necessary forms for family files. Recruits families for program by attending community events, meeting with community members, etc. Attends weekly staff meetings. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities are required.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
One year certificate from college or technical school in Early Childhood or Child Development; or one and one-half years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirement
An additional five years experience in a related field is required. Early Childhood experience preferred.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Child Development Associate Credential preferred.

Typing, filing, data entry.

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
