Cherokee Park Rehabilitation is seeking a Housekeeper!

We are a long-term care and rehabilitation home dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our residents. We pride ourselves on creating a home-like atmosphere where residents feel valued, comfortable, and respected. Our center features a women-only Alzheimer's care wing, providing specialized and compassionate care in a supportive and safe environment. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond resident care, as we equally prioritize the satisfaction, growth, and well-being of our staff.
A housekeeper will clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, storage, work rooms, therapy, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, clean toilets, sinks, showers, dust, empty trash & disinfect.
General Responsibilities include:
- Dust ceiling vents, lights, & other areas regularly
- Disposes of trash and waste, other materials in a safe manner
- Complete carpet cleaning as scheduled
- Clean vacant rooms immediately after discharge
- Assist in room transfers
- Attend facility in-services and training
- Assure personal & staff compliance to all State & Federal regulations including blood born pathogen control, use of hazardous materials & fire safety
- May be required to perform light maintenance, including changing light bulbs, checking call lights
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively (in written and oral form) in a care setting with residents, families, staff
- Must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, and stand for extended periods of time and may be required to move furniture
- Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
- Ability to detect odors and see spots and spills
- Ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment
- Passion for caring for the elderly
