Clinic Receptionist- Sutherland
Reports to: Patient Access Manager
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: 32 to 40 hours weekly, 8 Hours shifts
SITION SUMMARY: The clinic receptionist performs clerical, receptionist and scheduling duties, as well as provides assistance with the staff of CRC with the overall functioning of the clinic. Essential Functions
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
- Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
- Checks in patients for appointments.
- Registers new patients, providing them with registration forms and instructions as needed.
- Verifies and updates existing patient demographics each visit by collecting detailed patient information including personal and insurance information
- Schedules patient appointments according to guidelines.
- Assists with the collection of copays and other account payments.
- Creates and sends patient letters
- Assists with scanning or filing of documentation in patient charts as needed.
- Receives, faxes or distributes information to the desired patient or correspondent, including internal departments of the hospital.
Education
- Required: High school graduation or equivalent
- Preferred: Experience in a medical office
- Knowledge of office practices.
- Skill in the operation of office equipment including, but not limited to, phones, fax machines and computers
- Ability to type and complete data entry in an electronic health record with high attention to detail and minimal errors.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with members of the public providing excellent Customer Service
- Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions
- Ability to work in any clinic location
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as needed.
