Anticipated Schedule: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY: As an administration secretary in a hospital, you will be tasked with providing support to the hospital administrators and acting as a face of the administration to members of the public who want to contact them. Your duties may vary from day-to-day depending on the needs of the hospital administration. Duties also include coordinating all aspects of the credentialing, recredentialing and insurance credentialing processes for practitioners practicing within Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Provides integral support to healthcare operations by enabling timely onboarding of healthcare providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as the bridge between hospital administration members and the public.
- Handles incoming phone calls, including screening calls, taking messages and keeping superiors aware of any important calls.
- Positively represents administrators and the hospital as a whole over the phone and in person.
- Schedules appointments for administrators and assists in managing calendars.
- Preparse any needed reports, agendas, and documents for meetings. This may include taking meeting minutes.
- Displays exemplary customer service skills and helps hospital patients, employees and visitors to the best of your ability.
- Acts in a manner that is consistent with the hospital’s goals and values.
- Handles sensitive medical information .
- Files documents, enters data and maintains databases.
- Acts as backup for other Administrative Assistant and supports credentialing process.
- Supports the Marketing Department in administrative functions including processing invoices, database management, communication creation and distribution and general office support.
- Supports the Education Department as the Systems Administrator for Relias Learning Management System including configuration, data management, content management and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Preferred: Prior experience in office administration and credentialing/insurance credentialing experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including, letters, memos and emails.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Exemplary writing skills and advanced telephone etiquette.
- Ability to present a professional, poised face to the public.
- Ability to handle important data and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Very good organization and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.

- Knowledge and understanding of the credentialing process.
- Knowledge and understanding of the insurance credentialing enrollment process for physicians.

- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access) and internet resources.
