Job Description
HCC Maintenance Mechanic
Performs work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, minor lock repair, equipment inspection and assembly, life safety inspections, drain maintenance, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, moving equipment and furniture, and repairing buildings walls, floors, or stairs.
Additionally, serves as a back-up van driver to take residents to their scheduled medical appointments. The individual has dotted line reporting responsibility to the Cherokee Regional Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Installs, inspects, and conducts preventive maintenance, routine maintenance and minor repairs mechanical and electrical equipment, communications systems, medical equipment, buildings, plumbing, sanitary, medical gases, sprinkler system, and fire alarm systems.
- Completes preventive maintenance and conducts safety inspections.
- Maintains operating and repair knowledge of current and new equipment. Repairs are made correctly and completely.
- Responds to urgent requests and resolves or elevates in a timely manner.

- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CPR Certification.
- Chauffeur's License.
- Preferred: Any applicable maintenance certifications.
- Required: 2 years' experience in mechanical background.
