What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Die Maker position at CHERRY AEROSPACE?
Position Summary:
Level two tooling machinists work under minimal supervision to operate and perform basic setups of machines such manual and CNC mills, grinders, lathes and EDMs. Basic familiarity with thread/form roll tooling. This role requires intermediate competencies in print reading and inspection processes, as well as basic trouble shooting. 1-3 Years
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Correctly interpret work orders
- Lift up to 45lbs
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Operate basic Lathes, Grinders, and Polishing Equipment
- Machine intermediate tooling components with assistance
- Begin to perform basic equipment setups
- Communicate with other departments as needed (Thread-roll, heading, etc.)
- Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Skills:
- The ability to read and write English.
- The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals
- The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
- Intermediate print reading
- Basic familiarity with all relevant tools & equipment
- The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers, calipers, comparators
- The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills
- The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions
Experience & Education
- Typically 1-3 Years
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
