SUPERVISOR:
Principal or designee.
SUMMARY:
The Instructional Coach is housed at and works directly with the professional staff at a school site. The Instructional Coach has the primary responsibility to support teachers in becoming more effective so that students achieve excellence. As a catalyst for growth, the instructional coach will work collaboratively with teachers and administrators in providing venues for professional growth and learning that promote the district vision, mission and initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled meetings at the district level for professional growth and district updates and initiatives and collaboration with other instructional coaches.
2. Work in collaboration with the Coordinators of Professional Learning, Director of Professional Learning, and Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and building administration with other duties as assigned.
3. Willingness to work with any district calendar.
4. Testing Coordinator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience leading adult learning and demonstration of teacher leadership.
2. Demonstrates an extensive knowledge of current, research-based instructional strategies.
3. Understand the foundational principles of a PLT.
4. Knowledge of instructional shifts associated with the Common Core State Standards.
5. Solid sense of formative and summative assessments used in the district and how this data influences instruction.
6. Understand RTI as it relates to intervention and universal classroom instruction.
7. Knowledge and skill around support functions that instructional coaches play: coach, collaborator, consultant, facilitator.
8. Strong interpersonal skills.
9. Knowledge of differentiation and culturally responsive instruction to help progress the achievement of all students including ELLs, gifted students.
Salary : $44,100 - $55,800
