JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a licensed staff member, assist students by helping individuals or small groups of students with basic curriculum work, implementing programming, reinforcing learning skills, and reinforcing discipline procedures. Assist classroom teachers by preparing classroom materials, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement. Safely using tools (both hand and power), measuring, cutting, building, planning etc. Assignments include Automotive and Aviation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization. Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time
Assist classroom teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, attendance, etc. Assist with paperwork and documentation as needed.
Daily 50%
Assist students with classroom activities. Assist with curriculum delivery to both individuals and small groups to ensure mastering of subjects.
Daily 30%
Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher, including typing, stapling, filing, duplicating, taking inventory, scheduling repairs and maintenance, data entry, word processing, laminating, ordering supplies, placing phone calls, materials distribution, and light bookkeeping.
Daily 10%
Assist with other classroom events, such as field trips or fire drills, as necessary.
Monthly 5%
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- No professional work experience required
- For Automotive assignment, ASE Student certificate G1 and SP2 safety certifications
- For Aviation assignment, FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Classroom/instructional work in an educational setting, licensed teaching, or transportation industry experience

- Completion of Automotive MLR II or higher OR completion of Airframe and/or Powerplant studies at the CCIC or other part 147 school
