Cherry Glass & Aluminum (CGA) is a multi-generational local business established in 1968 as a branch of Capitol Glass and then purchased and rebranded in 1978. CGA is currently looking for a self-motivated and reliable individual who understands glass and enjoys working hard to join our team. CGA is located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and specializes in glass and aluminum solutions for commercial and residential applications. This position will be based out of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A Glazier, or Glass Contractor, is a construction professional who is responsible for installing or replacing glass items in homes, including windows, mirrors, shower doors and enclosures. Their duties include cutting glass, aligning glass within frames, and applying seals to hold window glass in place after fitting for residential properties. Commercial work includes cutting stock lengths of aluminum to assemble into single or multi-unit components with doors and hardware.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities include:
- Lead and guide other team members with knowledge and by example
Installation of storefront and windows
Studying blueprints and building plans to become familiar with the specifications of each project - Using tools to cut glass to fit frames precisely
- Checking that glass is properly aligned and straight during the installation process
- Assembling and installing metal and wood components used to hold glass
- Installing windows with putty or weather seal
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it is free of defects
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks
- Can lift 50 pounds safely throughout the day
- Cross-train into other job functions, as needed
- Lift equipment knowledge and use of forklift, scissor lift, manual and power cups
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Positive attitude, team player, willing to show up, work, and be efficient and effective with your time
- Licensed to drive with clean driving record in order to be on company insurance
- Familiarity with blueprints and proper measuring techniques
- Ability to use, read, and measure proficiently with a measuring tape/laser, etc.
- Arithmetic skills to determine sizing for storefront and glass fabrication
- Knowledge of how to properly use tools such as grinders, glass cutters, caulk guns, finish nailers, miter boxes, and utility knives
- Attentiveness to detail to ensure proper alignment of glass and to spot any defects in installation
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding safely without a fear of heights
- Ability to lift and carefully handle heavy panes of glass
- Ability to remain upright throughout a shift and to move through difficult-to-access spaces as needed
- Willing to work overtime as needed to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and required personal protection equipment for use on the job
