Maintenance Assistant Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Director in day to day maintenance and repair of the grounds, community, equipment, and resident suite turnover. This position is responsible for completing assigned service requests and repairs as assigned by the Maintenance Director consistent with company policy and procedure, and current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

* Position may require evening, weekend, on call, and holiday availability

Maintenance Assistant Job Requirements

v Candidate is preferred to have a minimum of one (1) year experience working as a Maintenance Assistant in a senior living community

v Candidate must be creative and willing to share ideas to help maintain an environment that supports both the residents and all staff.

v Candidates are encouraged to voice ideas, opinions and solutions. The voice of each staff member is truly valued to promote a positive work environment.

v Candidate preferred to have knowledge and understanding of assisted living regulations.

v Candidate must have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to deal tactfully and professionally at all times with medical professionals, personnel, residents, family members and guests.

v Candidate must possess the ability to effectively manage stressful or emergency situations.

v Candidate must be able to work independently, be able to self-direct and be motivated to work.

v Candidate must be able to pass a full drug screen and pass a national background check.

v Candidate must have strong leadership skills.

v Candidate must be able to multi task.

v Candidate must have dependable and reliable transportation to meet schedule expectations.

v Candidate may be required to work weekends and holidays.

Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities

v Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Director with room turns to ensure vacant apartment homes are rent ready in a timely manner.

v Maintenance Assistant is responsible to complete assigned service requests and repairs as assigned by the Maintenance Director consistent with company operating and equipment/supply standards and in a safe a timely manner.

v Maintenance Assistant is responsible to assist in maintaining customer service standards. Respond to resident requests as assigned and work with residents to minimize/resolve problems and complaints. Follow-through as directed to ensure issue is resolved.

v Maintenance Assistant is responsible to help create an environment of teamwork with co-workers, choosing to assist others beyond job responsibilities, and having a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.

v Maintenance Assistant will need to have the ability to work well with others, treat others with respect, work with integrity and ethics, and communicate in a pleasant, professional, and personable manner with all residents, family members, co-workers, other professionals, and guests.

v Maintenance Assistant will be expected to have thorough communication with co-workers to aide in being able to provided required care for residents for consistent quality of services.

v Maintenance Assistant will be expected to exhibit genuine interest in the residents and show patience and understanding while working with residents, families, and visitors.

v Maintenance Assistant is responsible for attending and participating in in-service educational classes/meetings, on-the-job-training programs, etc., as scheduled or directed.

v Maintenance Assistant will be expected to perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.50 per hour
