Description

The role of the KidZone Childcare Worker is to interact with and provide care for children participating in KidZone programs. KidZone is our childcare program that allows parents to attend various studies and groups to grow in their faith while their children are cared for. The KidZone Childcare Worker ensures a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where kids can grow and experience the love of God, while also ensuring that children and their families are well-served.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Implementation

  • Provide Age-Appropriate Curriculum.
  • Review curriculum before kids arrive for the program.
  • Prepare the classroom with age-appropriate centers or according to the curriculum.
  • Guide Bible/story time, singing, snack time, and a craft or art project.

Safety and Environment

  • Ensure Timely and Thorough Responses to Communication Requests.
  • Supervise and interact with kids in the classroom and on the playground.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of kids at all times.
  • Change diapers or assist kids with bathroom needs and handwashing.
  • Ensure the room and toys are satisfactorily clean and ready for the next ministry program.
  • Alert the KidZone Supervisor if a parent is needed due to injury, separation anxiety, or behavior issues.
  • Report any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect, according to the Cherry Hills Child Abuse Policy, to the KidZone Supervisor, Director, and Social Services.

Relationship Building

  • Cultivate Relationships with Kids and Families.
  • Connect relationally with kids and families during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Take time to thoroughly understand each kid’s needs.
  • Pray for the kids and families you serve.

Team Collaboration

  • Demonstrate Being a Highly Effective Team Member.
  • Build a culture defined by love and unity.
  • Regularly share stories and celebrate wins to cast vision.
  • Enjoy working with kids in a calm and gentle manner, including effective communication.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to new practices.

Communication Management

  • Manage email, voicemail, and communication requests in a timely, thorough manner.

Perform Other Duties and Tasks as Assigned

Requirements

  • Early childhood care experience
  • Maintain current CPR/ first aid certification, must be able to pass background check
  • Ability to kneel, sit, lift and transfer children as needed
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Cherry Hills Community Church.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster Christ-like relationships in all interactions with staff, volunteers, and congregants.
  • Willingness to lead by example in spiritual practices, including prayer and mentorship.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle high-pressure situations with grace and efficiency.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
