Junior Interior Designer Roles & Responsibilities
Cherry Home Designs is a small but mighty boutique interior design firm looking to hire a junior interior designer. The candidate must have a desire to work in an innovative environment where they can make a significant impact, wear multiple hats and learn new skills rapidly. This role is part of a passionate team, with the ability for growth within the company we scale.
General overview: Part-time or full time Junior Interior Design Consultant to support CHD design team on all aspects of interior design and furniture restoration/design for our clients including but not limited to curating furniture, floor planning, 3D renderings, client management, material research, installation, styling, etc.
- Work with Senior Designer to create the vision for a client’s home project from floor planning to color story to furniture selections
- Provide strong project leadership and seamless service to our clients, with exceptional communication throughout
- Support management of CHD client relationships and projects
- Develop design deliverables as assigned including but not limited to floor plans, 3D renderings, reflected ceiling plans, tile layouts and all technical specifications as needed
- Manage the curation of residential and commercial furnishings, art, decor, etc. for CHD clients
- Support Owner of CHD and CHD team in producing detailed project timelines with internal milestones. Provide regular and timely updates and progress reports to team
- Manage and check information produced by consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Respond effectively to complex questions and troubleshoot problems, while balancing between various projects.
- Apply strategic thinking to projects. Forecast, identify, and communicate risks and bring ideas and solutions to the table.
- Close projects efficiently- support the project team on rectifying snags and wrapping up projects quickly and effectively.
- Track client meetings and projects through Houzz ensuring all meeting notes, architectural plans and other documents are memorialized on the client’s account.
- Order furniture and decor based on client selections, create invoices through Houzz portal for client approval.
- Manage inventory and ordering for client projects ensuring all items arrive at the preferred location.
- Work with tradespeople to execute a client’s project to spec (painting, electrician, millwork, window treatments, etc.)
- Utilize CHD network of trade accounts and Set up trade accounts with new vendors as needed
- Oversee the production of video and photography for completed design projects.
- Provide recommendations and help develop team workflow based on prior expertise and experience
- Lead and Assist with 3D renders and floor planning as needed
- Lead and Assist styling client installs
- Support marketing efforts of CHD including events, social posts, advertising, etc.
Requirements
- Must have working knowledge of PowerPoint/Canva, Excel and Word
- Must have laptop computer and cell phone
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge of Sketch up, Adobe Creative Suite and Houzz
- Ideal candidate will be able to drive and have a car
- Must speak fluent in English, other languages are a bonus!
- Design degree or certification is a bonus. Experience counts as much as a degree!
