The Driver will coordinate transportation schedules with our Public House Manager and Property Care Manager to ensure seasonal employees arrive to work and are picked up from work at the appropriate time.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport seasonal workers to and from designated locations, including work sites, accommodations and various other activities.
- Communicate effectively with restaurant management regarding scheduling, route changes, passenger requirements and any issues that may arise during transportation.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers throughout the transportation process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle used for transportation and notify the Public House Manager of maintenance requirements when applicable.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations during transportation routes.
- Assist international students with understanding transportation schedules and expectations.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with passengers and other individuals encountered during transportation duties.
Schedule:
- This is a seasonal position, beginning the last week of May and ending the end of September.
- The Seasonal Driver can expect to work 10 hours per week on Saturday, Sunday and a day(s) during the week for grocery runs. Nighttime and weekend availability is required.
- Evening availability could require driving between the hours of 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm on any given day.
Necessary Skills:
- Excellent driving skills with a strong commitment to safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with individuals of various cultural backgrounds and languages.
- Time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with Leelanau and Grand Traverse Counties is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Driver reports directly to the Public House Manager and works alongside the Property Care Manager. The Driver does not have any supervisory duties.
Qualifications for the Job: To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability you are required to possess. 1. Education and/or Experience- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record verified by the Secretary of State, a chauffer’s license, previous driving experience preferred, but not required, a minimum of 2 years driving a personal vehicle. Cherry Republic is willing to support acquiring a Chauffer’s License for the right candidate.
2. Language Skills- Ability to read and communicate English, both verbally and in writing.
3. Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of uncertain variables in a driving environment.
4. Computer/ Technical Skills- Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft 365, and Google/Apple Maps as necessary.
5. Physical Requirements: This position requires periods of sitting stationary in a vehicle for more than 90% of any given shift. Minimal screen time on a computer with a keyboard is required for scheduling coordination. Up to 10% of the shift could be on your feet, assisting passengers in and out of vehicles or notifying them of your arrival.
All final candidates must show proof of a clean driving record, verified by the Secretary of State, show proof of an active Chauffer’s License and pass a Background Check.
