Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
- Positive attitude in working with students, parents, community members, and other staff members.
- Appropriate commercial driver’s license (CDL) and bus driver’s certification.
- Chesaning Union Schools offers free CDL training.
- Excellent driving record.
- Must meet Physical Health requirements.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Experience working with school age children.
- Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.
Job Duties:
- Monitor, supervise and provide a safe environment for all children on bus.
- Must complete daily pre-trip inspection of the vehicle and must immediately report needed repairs.
- Keep all student, parent and staff information confidential.
- Assist the Transportation Supervisor in mapping bus routes and planning schedules as needed.
- Must meet the requirements and follow the rules and regulations as established by the Michigan Department of Education and Chesaning Union Schools.
- Keep the bus clean and fueled.
- Prepare an “Accident Report” after any accident involving the bus and school bus passengers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Transportation Supervisor or Superintendent of Schools.
Salary: Wages in accordance with the Master Agreement. Cash in lieu of medical benefits: Full family-$1,625, Two person-$1,300, Single-$975, after satisfying 60 day probationary period. Over 30 hours per week (of awarded routes) will be eligible for dental & vision benefits.
