Description :

The Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School Training Manager will lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of CBOBS’ educational products—from employee training to student and client experiences. This will be accomplished through a comprehensive body of work which includes improving product content and delivery aimed at improving student outcomes in our 8 core SEL outcomes, ensuring instructional staff are equipped to deliver high-quality programming, and wrap-around supports for our core programs and program audience. This is a full-time position.

Requirements :

Staff Training Design :

  • Ensures industry standard training is delivered consistently to all instructional staff which enables safe and consistent program delivery to participants through internal and external trainers.
  • Identifies and advocates for innovative and effective learning solutions that meet the needs of a diverse learning community across the organization.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, develops, and controls the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of professional development programs, including content development, iteration and approval, and implementation (including facilitation).
  • Creates and manages annual training budget.

Curriculum Development and Program Development :

  • Leads a community of practice among lead instructors and supports Admin’s intent to cultivate best practices in education, curriculum development, and program design.
  • Designs and oversees successful implementation of the Character Curriculum for field staff and school partners.
  • Maintains and moves forward any iterations to the online curriculum portal.
  • Lead educator supports such as teacher debrief sessions.
  • Serves as the Program Quality Lead between OBUSA Learning Lab initiatives and CBOBS.
  • Data Analysis, Integration, and Communication :

  • Analyze trending data across field staff observations and support the planning of learning opportunities designed to consistently improve both the quality and consistency of work.
  • Implement participant and staff outcomes and feedback collection.
  • Analyze and report on data outcomes to internal and external audiences through presentations, reports, and more.
  • Use a data-informed approach to program development decisions.
  • Support communication to external stakeholders through Annual Reports, newsletters, presenting to external audiences, report cards, data share outs, website updates, and more.
  • Requirements

  • BA or Master’s degree in instructional design.
  • Deep familiarization and practice with adult learning principles and coaching.
  • Proficient use of data.
  • Ability to influence and inspire across departments.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities effectively; have strong planning and execution skills; be a goal-oriented and effective problem-solver.
  • Build strong working relationships and strong teams (teacher teams, leadership teams).
  • A lifelong learner who is constantly seeking self-improvement with a strong ability to be self-reflective, willing to learn and receive / give constructive feedback.
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • 44,000-$51,000; commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits :

  • Fifteen (15) days of Paid Time Off (PTO) which accrue per pay period.

    Salary : $44,000 - $51,000
