What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Captain position at Chesapeake Bay Pedal Club?
**SEASONAL... Current season beginning April 2025 and ending October 2025**
Looking for "on call" Captain, filling in when our primary Captain is unavailable. To serve as Captain of a 37ft Pontoon, 20-passenger Cycle-boat in Virginia Beach. In charge of safe operation, crew & passenger accountability. Able to navigate & operate vessel efficiently & safely.
The Boat Captain will need to possess the Maritime credentials provided by the U.S. Coast Guard including a 25 Ton or greater Master Captain's license with inland endorsement and be in good physical condition.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Understand and comply with standard procedures and guidelines for the operation of a safe and environmentally sound vessel.
· Conduct inspections of your assigned vessel to ensure seaworthy condition and communicate maintenance and repair requirements to correct any deficiencies identified.
