What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Partnerships position at Chesapeake Baysox?
The Baysox are seeking a well-qualified individual for the role of Director of Partnerships. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees the sale, fulfillment, and renewal of sponsorship Partnerships for the Chesapeake Baysox. The Director will oversee the Sponsorship department including management of partnership account executive(s). This role is the lifeblood of the business relationships that the Baysox hold within the community, as well as how the Sponsorship department succeeds in relation to internal stakeholders.
Duties
- Manage and renew existing partner relationships
- Develop new partners to maximize revenue associated with in-park Partner Marketing and Partner Hospitality/Ticket Sales
- Report monthly, or more often if necessary, throughout the year to the General Manager on sales forecasts and new business development
- Work closely with Ticket department to sell and fulfill Partner ticketing and hospitality needs
- Liaison with food and beverage to establish mutually beneficial partnerships with local, regional, and national food brands for exposure and sale in stadium
- Solicit bids for, and manage execution of, fulfillment of inventory by 3rd-party vendors as necessary including signage, promotional items, in-game entertainment resources, and more.
- Develop new and innovative inventory based on industry trends and market needs for sale to new and existing partners
- Work all regular-season Baysox home games to manage fulfillment and client entertainment needs
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or ownership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in sports management, business administration, or related field
- 3-5 years sales experience in sales of sports corporate partnerships, Entertainment/Hospitality, or equivalent sales/fundraising experience
- Experience managing and training subordinates in successful sales and activation strategies
- Strong interpersonal communications and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong grasp on industry trends in sports marketing
- Working knowledge of or previous experience with ticketing and CRM software (Hubspot specifically) preferred but not required
Compensation
The Chesapeake Baysox are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Individual base salary for this position is unique to each candidate and will commensurate with experience, education, and skills, ranging between $65,000- $85,000. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
