The Chesapeake College seeks a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team. This individual will work under the direction of the Maintenance & Energy Supervisor, assisting in maintaining all facets of the College's facilities systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Moves equipment, furniture, and completes set ups for college events and functions.
- Completes monthly sprinkler inspections and logs.
- Assists Trade Technicians in maintaining all facets of the College's facilities systems and equipment.
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, bobcats, forklifts, trucks, personal lifts, mowing equipment.
- Changes HVAC air filters.
- Replaces light bulbs, water filters, plumbing fixtures and parts.
- Aquire and maintain all necessary certificates to operate equipment.
- Perform trade specific tasks under the direction of trade technicians.
- Other general maintenance duties as assigned, such as carpentry and painting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- At least three (3) years work experience in any combination of the following trades: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry.
- Must have a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
