Job Description
The Chesapeake College is seeking a qualified professional with expertise in medical surgical nursing for its faculty position. Additional experience in pediatric nursing is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Classroom teaching: responsible for nursing concepts related to medical surgical and pediatric nursing areas, assigned according to area of professional expertise
- Clinical teaching: direct supervision of students in various settings, including hospitals and clinics
- Department and college-wide service activities, including academic advising
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the State of Maryland
- Master's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Demonstrated strong foundation in nursing theory and practice
- Current bedside nursing experience
- PREFERRED: Master's in Nursing Education or Post – Master's Certificate in Nursing Education
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks requiring physical energy for 8-12 hours without jeopardizing client and student safety
- Auditory ability sufficient to monitor and assess health needs of clients
- Visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary for client care

Salary Range: $53,682 - $103,466 per year
