Description
This position is responsible for the appropriate intake and assessment of learners and serves as a resource for all instructional staff. This position is grant-funded. Incumbent may be required to work evening hours on occasion, as needed.
Examples of Duties
- Works collaboratively with the Program Director, the MIS Specialist, and the Instructional Specialist.
- Conducts and accurately documents intake and assessment orientation.
- Conducts assessment sessions including documenting learner's goals, literacy level assessments, and pre-tests, and provides the necessary referrals to support services and / or outside agencies.
- Working with Program Director to develop and coordinate local policies and procedures for assessment and placement of learners in appropriate level classes at appropriate educational functioning levels.
- Communicating with learners and instructors / tutors regarding placement, progress, and attendance issues.
- Ordering, inventorying, and maintaining security of test materials.
- Working together with the Instructional Specialist to address the special needs of enrolled learners, including people with disabilities and English language learners
- Updates documented wait lists.
- Collaborate with the Program Director to identify training needs for assessment and intake, and help coordinate activities to address those needs.
- Assisting with the development and execution of the program's Data Quality Plan.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
