Job Title: Adjunct Instructor
Chesapeake College is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach various courses on our Cambridge campus.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom instruction and related activities.
- Facilitate classroom instruction (in-person and/or online).
- Remain current in the discipline.
- Use and be proficient with the college LMS to notify students of key academic dates, notify students of course adjustments, post syllabus and announcements, send/receive course mail, and maintain grades and attendance.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related discipline with a minimum of fifteen (15) graduate semester hours in the subject area from an accredited institution.
- Exceptional experience may be substituted for the Master's degree at the discretion of the Vice President.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience teaching a diverse population of students in a community college setting.
- Experience with learning management systems (or the willingness to complete assigned training prior to teaching).
- Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Work Environment:
The work environment is primarily inside a classroom/office setting. Occasional periods of light work may be required. The worker may be exposed to lifting up to approximately 35 lbs., occasional climbing stairs, walking, and travel between campuses.
Salary Range:
$821 - $899 per credit hour, based upon experience.
