What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Painter's Helper position at Chesapeake Collision?
Busy and growing Tesla certified repair shop has an immediate opening for a Painter's Helper in Glen Burnie, MD. Successful candidates will have some experience with painting cars or preparing cars for paint. The person hired will assist the Refinishing Technician in returning assigned vehicles to pre-accident condition and will have the opportunity to develop skills to grow their career in the auto body repair industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for refinishing under the supervision of the Refinishing Technician and in accordance with the written repair order;
- Assist Refinishing Technician by preparing panels and sanding/buffing to ensure a high-quality finish;
- Service refinishing tools and equipment, including regular maintenance of paint booth and its filters;
- Maintain a clean and organized work area;
- Clean and polish refinished vehicles;
- Ensure that refinishing is complete, including removal of all masking, and check the work performed to ensure consistently excellent repairs;
- Closely review estimate to verify all refinishing work has been completed;
- Comply with the safety rules, guidelines and standards of Chesapeake Collision, as well as those contained in OSHA and local laws; and
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- 6 months of work experience and demonstrable expertise as an auto body painter or painter’s helper preferred.
