POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Supervisor oversees, schedules, and coordinates the work of employees in relevant construction roles to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  • Guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of construction staff, contractors, suppliers, and extraction workers; ensures work is completed on schedule.
  • Ensures each assigned construction trade and extraction worker follows all safety standards.
  • Oversees the project/work site, ensuring safety standards are followed, and quality work is being performed in a timely manner.
  • Determines project requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers, based on given project specifications such as blueprints.
  • Performs daily walkthroughs of project/work site to confirm availability and use of proper materials and tools; recognizes and promptly addresses issues so that work can continue on schedule.
  • Resolves problems and coordinates activities for the job through collaboration and communication with other management or technical staff and contractors.
  • Conducts inspections and quality assurance tests of work and safety procedures.
  • Oversees and adheres to budgets and schedules for projects.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions for production problems, as required.

  • Thorough understanding of relevant construction trades and practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other reports outlining specifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of related experience is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Position requires 40%-60% weekly overnight travel regionally (2-3 hours driving) (1-2 hours flying)
  • Perform work with required/applicable PPE
