Job Overview
Location: East Coast - Travel Required
Chesapeake Geosystems is seeking experienced Drillers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of drilling experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on drilling rigs and equipment
- Safely load, transport, and unload drilling equipment at job sites
- Assess job sites and prepare drilling plans according to project requirements.
- Enforce strict safety standards to ensure crew safety
- Perform geothermal borehole drilling operations
- Assist in the installation of geothermal loops into the bores
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in an outdoor work environment in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of heavy equipment
- Must be able to work 10 or more hours per day, between 40-50 hours per week
What you'll bring:
- 2 years of drilling experience required (geotechnical or environmental preferred)
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
- Prior experience operating drilling equipment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Possess reliable transportation
Good skills to have:
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Previous leadership experience or the ability to lead a small team
- Experience with geothermal heat pumps
- Completed OSHA 30 certification preferred
Compensation
Exact pay is dependent on experience, licenses, certifications and skill level.
Travel Requirements
Traveling to job sites on the East Coast is expected up to 100%. Travel accommodations and per diem benefits are provided. We are a family-oriented company. Our goal is to ensure you're home for the weekends!
