Chesapeake Geosystems, based in Baltimore, MD, has been a leading provider of geothermal energy solutions for over 30 years. We’re licensed to drill throughout the East Coast and are continuing to expand.
We are seeking reliable heavy equipment operators to join our travel team. You will assist in the underground installation of geothermal systems. The ideal candidate is hardworking, punctual, and responsible. The ideal candidate should also be an all-rounder, willing to jump in and help the crew out where needed, ensuring smooth operations on all job sites.
As a member of our team, you’ll work with new CAT equipment. We provide you with the latest technology and tools to get the job done efficiently and safely.
Important: This position requires overnight travel Monday through Friday. This is NOT a strictly local position. You will be away from home during the week and return on weekends.
Key tasks:

The ideal candidate will:
- Prep and handle HDPE fusion pipe, including trimming, shaping, and staging for installation
- Assist in the installation and connection of geothermal ground loops
- Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, backhoes and loaders, bulldozers
- Demonstrate solid understanding of company safety standards and regulations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, including cleaning and checking for damages
- Support the drilling and lateral crews as needed on site.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 2 years experience of heavy equipment operating, excavator experience is a plus!
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and good work ethic
- Attention to safety and ability to follow instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demand:
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity
- Ability to lift, carry and move up to 80 lbs. of heavy equipment
- Frequent physical activity, including reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling climbing
