Job Overview
Chesapeake Geosystems is seeking experienced Well Drillers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of water well drilling or geothermal well experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. This position is travel extensive, so candidates must be comfortable with traveling.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on drilling rigs and equipment
- Safely load, transport, and unload drilling equipment at job sites
- Assess job sites and prepare drilling plans according to project requirements.
- Enforce strict safety standards to ensure crew safety
- Perform geothermal borehole drilling operations
- Assist in the installation of geothermal loops into the bores
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in an outdoor work environment in all weather conditions
- Lots of manual labor - must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of heavy equipment
- Must be able to work 10 or more hours per day, between 45-50 hours per week
What you'll bring:
- 2 years of well drilling experience required (geothermal preferred)
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
- Prior experience operating drilling equipment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Possess reliable transportation
Good skills to have:
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Previous leadership experience or the ability to lead a small team
- Experience with well water and/or geothermal wells
- Experience with air rotary drills
- Construction experience
- Completed OSHA 30 certification preferred
Compensation
Exact pay is dependent on experience, licenses, certifications and skill level.
Travel Requirements
