What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Technician position at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare?
Responsible and accountable for providing direct patient care while assisting Endoscopy staff and Physicians in the performance of Endo procedures. Assists in procedures and the disinfection of endoscopes and equipment. Must be extremely conscientious in the decontamination process and avoidance of cross contamination. Provides individualized patient care from adolescent to geriatric based on established standards of Endo room nursing practice and standards of care. Listen to instruction, anticipate needs, and translate in activity.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. ORT training preferred. Must have knowledge of aseptic practices, blood born pathogens, precautions, and safety practices. Six (6) months OR/Endoscopy Assistant or CST experience. BLS certification required.
