Summary
The Enterprise Solutions Engineer is a multidisciplinary technology specialist responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced IT solutions in a healthcare environment. This role involves direct engagement with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support patient care. The position encompasses expertise in data center operations, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and collaboration technologies. It is a hybrid role that allows remote work but requires an on-site presence based on operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned :
- Serve as the primary engineer and subject matter expert for enterprise IT solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across data center, networking, cloud, security, and collaboration platforms.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and High Availability solutions.
- Design and manage converged and hyper-converged infrastructure systems.
- Administer virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
- Configure and support technologies from Dell, Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Palo Alto, Pure Storage, Azure, and OCI.
- Lead the integration of public and private cloud solutions to enhance system performance and scalability.
- Provide expert-level support for VPN, Metro-E topology, SD-WAN, and application load balancers (Citrix and F5).
- Create detailed technical documentation, including system and network diagrams.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support critical IT systems.
- Demonstrate a commitment to flexible scheduling to ensure systems are available for patient care.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent IT work experience is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing and implementing complex IT solutions, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicant must hold a current professional level certification from a nationally recognized technology Vendor (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Pure, Palo Alto, Oracle, Azure, AWS Cloud, etc.).
