Summary
The Supply OR Core Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the Operating Room, including assisting OR staff with general duties to enable efficient turnover of OR suites, maintaining the surgical supply stocks, pulling surgical cases, transporting supplies and equipment between rooms at VBSC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.
Pulling and restocking supplies and instrumentation
Facilitate OR Room turnoversTransportation of equipment, supplies and specimens as needed.Maintains cleanliness of surgical equipment and sterile coreComplete laser training and maintain competency in order to effectively and safely operate laser machines when assigned.Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-servicesDemonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care.Effective Work BehaviorsDemonstrates adherence to safety policies and procedures and assists coworkers in compliance to them.
Demonstrates adherence to Human Resources Policies and Procedures, Departmental Policies and Procedures and other relevant Organizational Policies and Procedures. Keeps up to date on all policy and procedure changes.Uses equipment in accordance with all Policy and Procedures.Assesses safety of all equipment used and reports malfunctions to the appropriate person.Demonstrates and understanding of the costs of resources used in the department’s operation.
