Summary 

The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and The Vascular Quality Initiative Registry (VQI) program analyst is responsible   for the abstraction, facilitation, and maintenance of all the VQI data as well as state mandated data for the Vascular service line and assist with the Stoke registry   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

For the vascular and stroke programs, the VQI Program Data Analyst: 

  1. Responsible for capturing, validating, and inputting data into the VQI database for the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American Heart Association Stroke Program Get with the Guidelines. 

  1. Interprets/analyzes data to determine trends, identify causative factors, and determine opportunities for improvement for the Vascular and Stroke Programs  

  1. Generates outcome reports with dissemination to appropriate committees, managers, service line directors and the Director Quality and Patient Safety. 

  1. Creates and presents data reports for the Vascular Quality Committee and the Stroke Committee. 

  1. Ensures that all functions of the registry are met for each program using the guidelines set forth by the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and The Vascular Quality Initiative Registry (VQI and the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines -Stroke. 

  1. Maintains and coordinates updates of VQI and GWTG-S databases and communicates with relevant parties. 

  1. Attends annual VQI conference to ensure competency in all facets of Vascular program. 

  1. Coordinates data cleanup and data harvests on a scheduled basis. 

  1. Validates registry databases and data prior to submission to appropriate registries. 

  1. Schedules quarterly sessions, with the Vascular, Neurology and Neurosurgery physician leaders to update them on the progress discuss data reports. 

  1. Demonstrates competency in emerging VQI treatment and diagnostic modalities. 

  1. Demonstrates competency in emerging Stroke treatment and diagnostic modalities  

  1. Participates in VQI policy and protocol development. 

  1. Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining  

  1. Develops guidelines that identify the types of data required for analysis 

  1. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains business solutions to improve overall efficiencies with programs 

  1. Develops various reports and survey instruments for better data collection processes that are presented in user-friendly format 

  1. Creating and implementing data management collection techniques 

  1. Validates program changes and outcomes are well documented and aligned to evidenced based practice  

  1. Participates in strategic planning initiatives, grant, and event coordination 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned

Attend Education for the VQI and GWTG-S Registries within the first 30-60 days of on-boarding  

Education and Experience  

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, computer science, information systems, business, or related field 

Experience:  

 Two years of previous hospital or clinical setting in vascular and stroke setting or similar clinical data analysis 

 Must have thorough knowledge of Vascular and Neurovascular anatomy. 

 Must have knowledge of operative reports. 

 Three years in program analysis experience 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  

Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification 

                     Certification in data analysis or data sciences
