Our CSP Financial Services practice is seeking a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager on behalf of our esteemed client. This position is integral to owning the client experience for commercial prospects, clients, and centers of influence. The Relationship Manager (RM) will build exceptional relationships, qualify prospects, and customize solutions to develop, expand, and retain commercial relationships. By doing so, the RM will contribute to achieving and exceeding financial and non-financial goals. This role also ensures the accurate accounting, servicing, and protection of commercial banking assets and liabilities, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies, and sound banking practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop, maintain, and expand commercial banking relationships to grow sales, revenue, and market share while meeting or exceeding relevant sales goals.
- Focus on retaining and organically growing relationships for prospects and clients with enterprise values ranging from $5M to $100M .
- Act as the primary banker and facilitator for all banking needs for a portfolio of commercial relationships, encompassing both credit and non-credit clients.
- Product Knowledge & Sales:
- Possess a deep understanding of loan, deposit, and cash management products to provide tailored insights based on client business models and growth objectives.
- Identify and execute on opportunities to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to meet client needs.
- Loan Structuring & Compliance:
- Analyze, structure, recommend, and submit loan proposals for approval by the appropriate authority or loan committee.
- Document and close approved loan requests in full compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and banking standards.
- Ensure that commercial banking assets and liabilities are correctly set up and accounted for in loan and deposit systems.
- Portfolio Support & Oversight:
- Support Portfolio Managers in monitoring loan portfolios, ensuring adherence to delinquency, document follow-up, covenant compliance, financial reporting, renewals, and additional requirements.
- Community Engagement & Business Development:
- Represent the bank within the community by developing referral sources and centers of influence.
- Actively participate in not-for-profit organizations, including serving on boards of directors, to enhance the bank’s visibility and network.
- Identify and suggest appropriate banking services to prospects and customers to establish new business relationships.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the team and organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field (preferred).
- Completion of formal credit training (preferred).
- 3-5 years of commercial lending experience with a proven sales track record.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, underwriting, and compliance issues.
- Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities and create impactful value propositions.
- Skilled in negotiation, with the ability to structure and close customer sales effectively.
- Proficiency in leveraging financial solutions to meet client goals and developing tailored recommendations.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to assess and make decisions based on accurate and timely data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Salesforce is a plus.
