Chesapeake Search Partners has been exclusively engaged with a client seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant that will play a critical role in the financial management and reporting processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the organization’s mission by maintaining financial integrity. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a commitment to excellence, and a passion for nonprofit work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high degree of working knowledge of applicable funding source regulations and requirements.
- Analyzes data and produces reports for grants, awards and other funding sources.
- Reviews and reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Reconciles assigned bank/investment accounts.
- Produces accounts receivable aging and other related reports; calculates, records and documents reserve adjustments; and proposes balances for write off.
- Prepares internal and external budgets and periodic projections/forecasts in collaboration with CFO.
- Recognize impending and/or significant issues and problem areas and initiates communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Nonprofit industry experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of RAMP software a plus.
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
