Echo Technologist Job Summary
Job Summary : As an Echo Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare field by utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to produce high-quality images of a patient's heart and circulatory system. Your expertise will assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring various cardiac conditions, enabling the delivery of accurate and timely patient care. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to patient well-being.
Echo Technologist Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms (ultrasound examinations of the heart) using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Accurately position patients and adjust equipment settings to obtain clear and comprehensive images of the heart and related structures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the specific requirements of each examination and adapt the procedure accordingly.
- Assess and analyze echocardiographic images to identify abnormalities or anomalies, such as valve disorders, heart defects, and cardiac function issues.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and image documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper calibration.
- Assist with the implementation of quality control and quality assurance protocols to uphold imaging standards.
