Job Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills. This position is on-site and salaried exempt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage and process accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
- Sales Tax Processing: Review and process sales to ensure that sales taxes are properly calculated, reported to the governing authority and paid for in a timely manner.
- Payroll Processing: Manage and process payroll and payroll taxes on a biweekly basis.
- Insurance Maintenance: Maintain and ensure insurance for both the company and employees is properly handled.
- Reconciliations: Conduct regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.
- Compliance: Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures, and company compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage is preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
