OUTLINE for Moving Associate:
Under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Moving Associates assist with moving, packing, wrapping, inventory, unpacking, setting up, and transporting household goods and/or commercial equipment for residential and commercial customers. He/she professionally represents the company to ensure a positive customer experience.
QUALIFICATIONS for Moving Associate:
- Experience is preferred, but we will train eager, motivated, reliable candidates.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles, and practices.
- Capable of lifting 60 lbs. repeatedly and on a regular basis.
- Able to work within a team or independently as needed.
- Must have a flexible schedule; work hours vary from job to job due to client and community availability.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Moving Associate:
- Communicates clearly and concisely with other crew members and clients.
- Carefully wrap, deliver, and set-up items inside clients homes, as required/requested within committed time frames including but not limited to, bed frames, mattresses, box springs, dressers, tables, chairs, sofas, TV mounts, and wall decor.
- Loads and unloads furniture, boxes, and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring that appropriate padding and tie-downs are used to prevent damage.
- Inspects items for damage or defects before packing and wrapping.
- Follows instruction from Crew Chief and adheres to all company policies and safety rules.
- Operates mechanical lift gates and mechanical platforms to facilitate loading and unloading of materials, as appropriate to the area of operation.
- Wears company-approved uniform and maintains a clean and professional appearance while representing the company and providing service to clients.
- Displays professional conduct, courtesy, and manners at all times.
- Respect clients’ property and personal space.
- Respects residents’ and senior living communities’ property and space.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies while promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS for Moving Associate:
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to biohazards, hazards, or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
